Technical Director

• Management of the technical team (caretakers, building technicians, IT/network)
• Planning and further development of the hotel’s technical infrastructure (building systems, plumbing, electrical engineering, facility management)
• Budget responsibility for technology, maintenance, energy efficiency, and operating costs
• Coordinating technical requirements with management, hotel services, and F&B
• Planning, implementing, and monitoring renovation, modernization, and installation projects
• Ensuring operational safety, availability, and compliance (e.g., fire safety, security, GDPR)
• Development of maintenance, emergency, and crisis management plans
• Quality management, regulatory, and safety standards (e.g., HACCP implementation in relevant areas, ISO standards, DVWG/DIN standards depending on the hotel’s standard)
• Selection, implementation, and integration of building systems, IT infrastructure, and cloud services
• Supplier and contract management, tenders, and SLA monitoring
• Resource planning, recruiting, team development, and mentoring
• Preparation of reports and key performance indicators for management
• Collaboration with Operations, Revenue Management, F&B, and Housekeeping
• Innovation management: Monitoring technological trends in the hospitality industry (energy efficiency, sustainability, guest experience) and assessing them

Your Profile

• Completed training in building services engineering, electrical engineering, utility engineering, plumbing/HVAC, or a comparable qualification
• Management experience in a technical role within the hospitality industry or, preferably, in facilities/property management
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, building services engineering, electrical systems, plumbing, IT infrastructure, networks, and, if applicable, security systems
• Project management skills and a strong understanding of budgeting
• Analytical, structured approach to work; problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills; service-oriented and team-oriented
• Negotiation skills with suppliers; budget responsibility
• Business-fluent in German; knowledge of English is a plus
• Willingness to be on call or perform emergency duties
