The Role: Monitoring & Observability Engineer

Location: Munich Region, Germany

Work Model: Full Onsite

We are looking for a Monitoring & Observability Engineer to join a dynamic IT operations environment in the Munich region. The candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing monitoring and observability solutions, ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of critical systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain monitoring and observability platforms.
• Monitor infrastructure, applications, networks, and services to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Configure dashboards, alerts, and reporting tools to proactively identify issues.
• Analyze logs, metrics, and traces to support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to improve system reliability.
• Develop monitoring standards, best practices, and operational procedures.
• Support incident management and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in IT Monitoring, Observability, or Systems Administration.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following monitoring tools:Dynatrace
• Centreon
• Zabbix
• Grafana
• Experience with log management and analysis platforms such as:Splunk
• Elastic Stack (ELK)
• Kibana
• Strong understanding of infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring (APM), and log analytics.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical environments.
• Familiarity with Linux and enterprise IT environments.
• Native German language skills (mandatory).
• Good English communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of automation and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with ITIL processes and enterprise monitoring frameworks.
• Exposure to containerized environments and Kubernetes.
